We are pleased to announce that The Big Lottery Fund have provided us with a Grant that will allow us to have new, secure fencing along the border of our site. Not only that - but also a Clubhouse / Pavilion where we can have our Committee meetings, make tea/coffee, sit and relax out of the rain, or just catch up for a chit-chat. All of this possible with thanks to The Big Lottery Fund. Hopefully, all work will be completed in the New Year - if not before. With thanks to Walkers Heath Allotments for their help and guidance in this very rewarding process.

Lifford Lane Birmingham

Lifford Lane Allotments have 19 Plots and can be found in Kings Norton, Birmingham.

The Allotments sit in a very mixed environmental surrounding. On one side, there is a Canal offering the peacefulness of Narrowboats passing by and local fishermen sitting quietly on the Tow Path - on the other side, the local Recycling Centre. There is passing traffic on one side, and greenery on the other.

Although it now has 19 plots, at one time there were more. Where the Recycling Centre is across the road, there were 37 plots. At the bottom end of the site, land was purchased by a local business and has been fenced off. Hence unusual numbering of plots now on site - from 38a to 58

Many local residents have plots on the site, and although part of Birmingham City Council, Lifford Lane works together with another local Allotment - Walkers Heath, situated half a mile away.

We now have a Committee and are looking for new members - come on existing plot-holders, join us and make this site thrive! Have a chat with Richard and he'll let you know of our regular meetings once the Pavilion is ready and raring to go.

If you are interested in having an Allotment at Lifford Lane, contact Richard Coltman who virtually lives there, and he will be more than happy to arrange to show you around. Sometimes we have a waiting list so you may have to be a little patient.
